Scratching your head for Father’s Day ideas?

We’ve put together a list of our favourite independent shops and makers to make it easier – and to help London’s small businesses. Indies like these have had a tough year (haven’t we all!) and your support would mean the world.

Father's Day is on Sunday June 20th! Each of the small businesses featured in this article is based in London and offers discounts to Local Buyers Club members.

First up you can’t go wrong with some locally-brewed beer. We love ORA Brewing, Deviant & Dandy, Mondo Brewing, the By The Horns Brewing Company and craft beers from Rebellious Goods. Order a keg or a box full of beers and let them deliver direct!

What about some cool artwork?! East End Prints, Planet Patrol, Me on the Map and Draw the Line have some gorgeous pictures – choose a pic of a place that’s special to your family!

Say it with food! Treat London-based dads to some scrummy fine dining – whether it’s a slap-up meal by Honey & Thyme, Maison Patron, All’s Well or Indulge Dining. The amazing Sinead and Lee at Bong Bongs Manila Kanteen now deliver their Crispy Pata Pancakes nationwide. Or, if your dad has a sweet tooth, nothing says I Love You like a box of doughnuts from Knead a Little Love.

We are MAHOOSIVE fans of Ince Umbrellas… heaven forbid I ever leave ours on a bus! This company was founded in 1805 and survived two world wars and a pandemic! Their umbrellas are stunning and made to last.

For those who love the great outdoors we recommend taking a look at Ohelo (brilliant reusable water bottles and coffee cups) and Outdoor People (rucksacks, tents, picnic blankets etc).

Iris & Co plants are always a winner – we’ve ordered from them a few times now!

Back to booze – check out Artisan Drinks for some fabulous gins, the East Gifting Outfit for beautifully presented beer and gin sets and Victory London Distillery for locally-made botanical spirits!

If he's keen or cooking (or if you think he should be!) Greenwich Pantry has a range of courses available, including Sushi, Piemaking, Vegan Baking, Fermentation and Preserving and Bread Bakng. Borough Kitchen also offers a range of online cookery courses.
