New ‘shop local’ discount club expands to Crouch End
The Local Buyers Club has expanded into Crouch End, securing discounts at some of the area’s best local and independent businesses.
The membership club, which includes a discount card, launched in North and East London in August and has been expanding rapidly.
Among the Crouch End businesses offering discounts of 10% or more to cardholders are The Queens Pub, Tootoomoo, Sable D'or- Boulangerie, Patisserie & Café, Arthouse cinema, Edith’s House, Crouch End Cellars, Martini Bar - Italian Bar and Kitchen, Hot Pepper Jelly Café, Vintiners and Freemans Family Butchers. Basil Fansa, co-founder of the Local Buyers Club, said: “Crouch End has a character and vibrancy that’s hugely enhanced by its independent businesses and it’s worth preserving. We’re delighted to have such a good range of businesses represented here – from the butcher and the baker to the pub and the cinema.
“Shopping and eating locally rather than at major chains offers a richer, more authentic experience, preserves the uniqueness of individual high streets and supports smaller businesses which are often battling extortionate rents and rates. It also helps to keep money within local communities.”
Over the coming weeks the Club will be featuring the stories of the individuals behind these businesses, in a bid to highlight the brilliant service they offer and to help customers get to know them better.
Local Buyers Club members can also use their cards to save money at over 100 businesses in Stoke Newington, Islington, Clapton, Dalston, Broadway Market and The City, with the number of businesses offering discounts increasing daily. Terms and conditions apply.
Membership costs just £12 per year. Join now or find out more at www.localbuyersclub.com
