100 free Bloody Marys on offer as Little Bat adds new restaurant in N1
A popular neighbourhood bar in Islington that serves the best brunches in town has just added a restaurant to its offering.
The Little Bat Bar on Islington Park Street, which is a sister business to whimsical cocktail bar Callooh Callay, has relaunched as the Little Bat Bar & Kitchen, welcoming Head Chef Ian McIntosh to the team and transforming part of the building into a 24-cover restaurant. The food is modern, British, seasonal and incredibly fresh; with vegetables picked just a day or two before serving. Brunch dishes include Roast Tamworth pork belly breakfast banh mi; pancakes, passionfruit cream, strawberries, maple syrup as well as their classic smashed avocado and poached eggs. For dinner treat yourself to the Pappardelle with Ox cheek ragu!

Owner Richard Wynne, said: “Much of the appeal of the modern neighbourhood bar or pub is comfort and familiarity. With this in mind, Little Bat is immersing itself within the community and inviting guests in for a quick cocktail, to meet up for a night out or to linger over a hearty meal and a glass of wine.
“We’re particularly excited to have Ian onboard as the new Head Chef. His passion for seasonality and great local British produce makes him a natural fit for our team. The knowledge he’s gained from his international culinary adventures will also be reflected in the food menu. Not to mention the drinks menu, which’ll feature cocktails infused with his choice of seasonal purées”.
To celebrate its new restaurant, Little Bat Bar is giving away 100 free Bloody Marys to the first 100 people who come in to dine this weekend (November 2nd and 3rd). And they’ve added two limited edition cocktails to the menu – the Witch’s Brew (Bacardi-based with Angostura Bitters) and a Toffee Apple Babble (rum, applejack, toffee nut syrup and more!).

Richard has been working in the bar industry for more than 20 years and launched Callooh Callay in 2008 with just a £10,000 loan. It became one of London’s most popular venues with its trademark cocktails served in grammar-phones. He opened the Little Bat Bar in 2016, which he describes as “more grown up.” The front section is inspired by a botanical garden and the middle section by a portrait gallery. The new restaurant occupies what was formerly the bar’s ‘back lounge.’
The Little Bat Bar was crowned Best Bar in Islington and Best New Venue by Design my Night (2016/17). Local Buyers Club members save 20% on their legendary brunches.
